The national airline david beckham of Morocco, Royal Air Maroc, will launch service between northern Tangiers and Gibraltar on 29 March 2015. This will be the world's shortest david beckham intercontinental service and will be the first airline connection from the 1990s between the two cities with a long common history and whose historically air links back to the 1930s.
Operating initially run twice a week on Thursdays and Sundays and allow Gibraltarians reconnect by air with the historic city of Tangier david beckham and allow Moroccans discover all that Gibraltar has to offer.
The main contact for the start of these services was initiated by the Office of the Chief Minister and Minister of Tourism to celebrate then a meeting with a delegation of Royal Air Maroc. The start of new air services to Tangier is part of a broader approach of the Government of Gibraltar to promote tourism in Gibraltar, industry, financial services and commercial matters in Morocco.
Commenting on the new link Neil Costa, Minister of Tourism, Trade Issues, Multimodal Transport Public and Port, said: "Gibraltar has enjoyed strong links with Morocco for years and thanks to the Government's initiative will enable Moroccan nationals with visas Schengen visit the Rock for up to 21 days, and discover as a unique destination for shopping and leisure. This service will also be suitably programmed so passengers can connect from Casablanca with one stop in Tangier. The new service also highlights the commitment of the Government of Gibraltar david beckham to promote tourism and provide exit opportunities for local people and the business community.
