According to German TV ARD, the IOC has already begun to retest samples collected in the Turin Winter Games in 2006, with a new anti-doping test and has found hundreds of positive results of doping.
In an interview with the Associated Press, the president of the IOC medical commission, Arne Ljungqvist, the IOC confirmed already started sport direct tests with samples of Turin using the new procedure but could not quantify how many results sport direct were positive. The official number must be issued by the end of 2013.
The new test is called "Metabolites Test long term," since it can detect steroids used prior to testing over six months. The current test can not catch besides.
