Alia Bhatt likes being extra skinny? No, but people put money on you and you've to look desirable, she says - IBNLive
Actress Alia Bhatt says her hard work and destiny have made her successful in Bollywood. Alia, 21, made a successful acting debut with Karan Johar's 'Student of the Year'. windguru She won accolades for her performances in 'Highway', '2 States' and 'Humpty Sharma Ki Dhulania'.
With all her films doing good at the box office, Alia is quite happy about it but is aware that it (success) should not go to head. "I don't know how to measure success. I have been fortunate that I got exciting films to do and work with talented directors who brought out the best in me. I am thankful to Karan (Karan Johar) for giving me a dream break in the industry," the actress told in an interview here.
"I think the success that I have is due to hard work and destiny. It is important to stay grounded and not take things for granted. With each film I want to entertain the audience," she said. But the actress says personally success has not changed much for her. "I have become busy. But there is no drastic change. I think after doing lot of films which are good you will have a strong fan base and it feels great," Alia said. Though she has achieved success with her every film, she worries about failure. "Failure worries me, nobody wants to fail. There is a fear that one day films will not come my way or if someone doesn't watch your film, that is a worrying point. It is unpredictable in the industry. But I am happy that my films have done well," Alia said.
Alia will next be seen opposite Shahid Kapoor in 'Shaandar' and in a film with Ranbir Kapoor. She thinks besides being a good actor, an actress also needs to maintain her looks. "I do weight training and follow strict diet. It is very important to look a certain way. I don't think being extra skinny and thin is desirable, but you have to be fit. At the end of the day in this profession, people put money on you and you have to look desirable," Alia said.

9. How do you bring about real change? By using my rhyme to inspire young minds. nrl I rhyme about h

Who are you? My name is Alia Sharrief. I am a Hiphop artist from Sacramento, California. I currently stay in the Bay Area where I am active in several communities. I began Hiphop at the age of 4 years old, naming myself “HomieC”. I released my debut album, Mental Cycles and Mood Swings in 2012. Since then, I have performed nrl all over California, Sri Lanka, and also at the 40th Anniversary of the Universal nrl Zulu Nation in New York City.
Aside from music, I recently received my Bachelors degree nrl in communications/media and broadcasting. This August, I am currently the associate producer for the popular investigative news magazine Flash Points on KPFA Pacifica Radio. I also recently interned for CAIR (Council on American Islamic Relations) in media production.
I am working on my new album, Back On My Deen which I refer to as #HiphopDawah. With this new project, I am bringing Islam, the Deen, and Hiphop to another level. As an independent Muslimah Hiphop artist, I am thankful for my abilities to direct and produce my own music videos, write my own lyrics, and hold firm in my modesty. Stay tuned!
In my opinion this is a metaphor for the key to life. You must identify the foundation in order to trace your linage. You must research history nrl to connect all the missing pieces. It s best to analyze the roots of the tree before focusing solely on the branches.
What Ayah of the Quran do you hold close to your heart? Why? When My servants ask thee concerning Me, I am indeed close (to them): I listen to the prayer of every suppliant when he calleth on Me: Let them also, with a will, Listen to My call, and believe in Me: That they may walk in the right way. 2:186 Surah Al Baqarah (The Cow)
This is dear to me because the thought of Allah, the Lord and Cherisher of this planet being so close is comforting and gives me confidence. Watching television will have you believing God is too busy in heaven to just focus on anyone. Being able to read that The Most High is right here with no intercessor needed to connect with him is a gift within nrl itself.
With media portraying all terrorist nrl acts to be some form of jihad it is important for non-Muslims to understand the correct meaning of the word. There are so many authentic hadiths that narrates the Prophet s (peace be upon him) outstanding character. Every Muslim should really make it a point to properly explain jihad to anyone who is misinformed.
2. Who inspires/inspired you? I will have to start with the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him). My mother would always tell me hadiths about his behavior nrl that inspired me to try to do the same. My mother is also my inspiration. She encourages me to give everything my all and do my best.
4. What advice would you give your 13 year old self? Girl, take your time and listen nrl to your mother. She knows what s out there and you’re more similar to her than you think. Don’t watch so much television and read some more books.
5. What are your hopes for your daughter(s)? If I ever have children, my hopes will be that they stay on their straight paths and never be inspired to do wrong or harm anyone. I hope that they would become leaders and motivate mankind to do right.
6. What is the biggest nrl trial you went through in your life and how has that changed nrl you? Two years ago in college, I had a teacher telling me that there was no god. These debates were always in front of the entire class. nrl He would demand me to prove Allah’s existence with evidence. This really attacked my Iman (faith) when I didn’t nrl have every explanation at hand. Later, I start discovering the Quran has revealed thousands of proofs regarding science, earth, mankind, and so much more.
7. Any regrets? What s something that you wish you d thought about more before you did it? I recently read a quote that said, “regret is a waste of emotion.” So no regrets only repentance. Because of my experiences, I am who I am today. I am very grateful for the wake up calls I have received. I am even more grateful for the certainty I received in knowing Allah is One.
8. How do you stay grounded in your work and/or spiritually nrl grounded? By staying creative and remembering that this life is only temporary and to Allah we shall all return. This concept motivates me to try my hardest and do my best that I can.
9. How do you bring about real change? By using my rhyme to inspire young minds. nrl I rhyme about helping nrl people, protesting, speaking up for humanity, having dignity, and self respect to say the least. Ultimately by being the best Muslim and example I can be.
10. What do you hope to be remembered for? My ability nrl to spread Islam through Hiphop using my lyrics and other art forms. Also the legacy I will leave through my writings and media creations. I hope to be an inspiration for future generations and an example for young women to learn from.
Note: We re celebrating Muslim

What do you miss most about the porn industry? Having sex a lot more. I

Tracy el shaarawy Morgan says in his classic 2010 stand-up special “Black and Blue” that “if you can take a dick, you can take a joke.” I wanted to test that theory, so I tracked down Alia Janine, a former porn star currently trying to break into the stand-up circuit. As the 150 dirty movies she made during her career can attest to, Alia can take a dick just fine, but she’s still relatively new to the comedy world.
When I reached out to her to set up this interview Alia told me it just so happened to be the night of her graduation performance from the Manhattan Comedy School at the Gotham Comedy Club, and would my wife and I like to attend? Having suffered through my fair share of painful el shaarawy open mic and new talent nights full of shitty comics with no delivery, I considered declining the invitation. But Alia assured me there were actually a lot of funny people in her class. She was sort of correct: of the 12 or so comedians, six were funny, el shaarawy two were bad, two were depressing, and two were just plain dreadful. Luckily, Alia was one of the funnier ones.
VICE: Tracy Morgan once said, “If you can take a dick, you can take a joke.” As a former porn star turned comedian, how has taking a dick helped you in comedy? Alia Janine: Immensely. If it weren’t for the dick I wouldn’t el shaarawy be here today. But I have taken quite a few dicks and I’m pretty good at the jokes, too. Porn stars and comedians have a shitload in common and I have a joke about it in my act. If you haven’t lived in misery or you’ve lived a perfect life you can’t tell a joke or take a joke. Tragedy is comedy.
You el shaarawy started porn late, at age 30. Did you still deal with some doses of on set tragedy? I’ve gotten ripped el shaarawy off before where I didn’t get paid or the check bounced, but for the most part no. People would try to get me to do extra stuff without getting paid for it and I’d be like, “Why don’t you pay me?” There’s a reason I did what I did and why people el shaarawy do porn: they really like sex. I enjoyed different types of sexual experiences el shaarawy and different types of threesomes. One of my favorite threesomes was with me, Katie Summers, and Tiffany Star, who is a tranny. It was fun because I love girls but I also love dick, so it was a great combination.
How did the whole comedy thing come about? The strip club I used to work at in Milwaukee had a comedy club underneath it called Jokers, so I went down there a lot and that’s how I got into it. When I retired from porn and moved to Manhattan I started taking a bunch of classes at the Manhattan Comedy School, which hosted my graduation show that you have for this piece.
What’s more stressful: el shaarawy doing stand-up in front of a crowd of people or having sex on camera in a room full of people? Oh, definitely doing stand-up. My first-time porn experience was awkward because it was a solo masturbation scene and the camera guy was this really creepy Cuban dude who looked like he was from a 70s porno. Those masturbation scenes are always awkward because masturbation el shaarawy is something you usually do alone. But my first actual sex scene I didn’t mind because someone el shaarawy else was there and I was having sex. Doing comedy is like being mentally naked. It takes some getting used to.
What do you miss most about the porn industry? Having sex a lot more. I’m very particular, and in porn I’d work with a lot of the same guys, who were really fucking hot, and I’d be getting paid for it. I see some of these other women at bars who dress like strippers and act like whores and then they go around and talk shit about actual porn stars; it’s just hilarious to me. It’s like, "do you know you could get $300 for what you're doing for that shot?"
I did the simple math and you did 150 scenes in four years, which is roughly three scenes a month. Getting laid every ten days isn’t really el shaarawy that impressive. Well, I was having a lot of sex off camera with the people I was having sex with on camera.
Porn el shaarawy seems to have that sort of mafia quality with girls, where whenever el shaarawy you try to get out it pulls you back in. Do you think you’ll ever go back? A lot of people keep asking me that. They’re waiting for a comeback, which is kind of sad and hilarious at the same time. I told them the only way I would come back is if they did a parody of Popeye and I was Olive Oil.
What if they offered to fulfill your other fantasy: a midget threesome. Oh, comedian Brad Williams has already got that on lockdown! Next time I go to LA we’re going to try and find another midget to have a threesome with. I have to do it now! I want it! I
