A 26-inch, 160mm travel fork has been seen under team riders and the 29er version is currently 130mm. This is a particularly interesting announcement on the eve of next week s global OverMountain rafael nadal bike launch in Spain where Cannondale will be introducing two new bikes.

Cannondale is excited to announce that its North American OverMountain team will be racing and adventuring on the all-new SuperMax suspension fork for the 2014 season and beyond. I get dozens of press releases and product announcements sent my way on a daily basis, and for the most part I tend to glance at them and move on, as few of them are of any interest to readers. But yesterday I received word that Cannondale is updating its OverMountain line of bikes just in time for spring, and since this is the time of year when many of us go shopping for a new ride, I thought the news was worth sharing. Both the Trigger and Jekyll models got a refresh this year, bringing aggressive new styling along with a host of upgraded components. Both are available in the now popular 27.5" tire size, which has become the sweet spot between the agile 26" models of the past, and the more comfortable ride of the 29" models that were all the rage just a few years ago. For those who prefer that tire size, the Trigger does have a 29" option as well. Cannondale has brought SuperMax forks to both the Trigger and the Jekyll, as well as Fox DYAD rear shocks. Both options deliver better performance oculus rift over previous models, giving riders oculus rift more confidence oculus rift on the mountain. The Jekyll has been specifically designed for the Enduro crowd, and it shows in its all new design. In contrast, the Trigger is more of an all mountain bike, offering the ability to both climb and descend more aggressively. Both the new Trigger and Jekyll will be available at dealers soon. Prices vary depending on the exact model you're looking for. Personally, the new Trigger looks fantastic. I hope to get the chance to check it out soon.

The Trigger 27.5, simply referred to as “Trigger” in the Cannondale marketing materials, is essentially the all-new Jekyll’s little brother. With (you guessed it) 27.5″/650b wheels and 150/85mm of rear travel, this bike essentially offers Jekyll aggressiveness dialed back just a hair. Consequently, Cannondale sees the all-new Trigger as a “quiver killer.”
While Cannondale’s new models reinforce my impression that the 26″ wheel is going the way of the dinosaurs , they haven’t abandoned the wagon wheels yet! The Trigger 29 offers the Trigger’s fantastic performance with a 29er roll-over-anything feel. The travel is dialed down a bit, with the rear shock providing 130 or 80mm of travel, depending on which way the lever is flipped.

The Cannondale Jekyll has been completely reworked for 2015. Developed in collaboration with Jerome Clementz, the all-new bike features the new SuperMax insanity workout front suspension , a new Fox DYAD rear shock with extra travel, military-inspired Ballistec carbon fiber, 27.5″ wheels , and new geometry insanity workout to go with the extra travel and new wheel size.
Cannondale has sought to create as laterally stiff of a bike as possible. To that end, they’ve incorporated a patented Enhanced Center Stiffness-Torsion Control (ECS-TC) system. This system utilizes 15mm thru-axles for the key pivot points. Cannondale claims that “by placing axle bearings in-board and clamping insanity workout the ends of the axle, the axle becomes a structural part of the link or swingarm. Tying the two sides of the link or swingarm together via the axle in this manner radically increases the system’s ability to resist twisting loads.” They’ve also incorporated a collet-style bearing preload system as well as double-stacked rear dropout insanity workout pivot bearings.
The unique dual-tempered Jekyll-and-Hyde DYAD rear shock offers 160mm or 95mm of travel, depending on which way the lever is flipped. According to Cannondale, “where other bikes are forced to use one middle-of-the-road travel and geometry for both climbing and descending, DYAD doesn’t compromise. With its dual modes, Elevate and Flow, it delivers the right shock response and the right geometry at the right moment.” For more information on the DYAD, check out this video :
The SuperMax Lefty features 160mm of travel and weighs in at just 1,850 grams. With its inverted design, dual integrated crowns, 36mm lower leg and 46mm upper leg, Cannondale claims insanity workout that the SuperMax is stronger and stiffer, gram for gram, than the competition.

(TSX: DII.B, DII.A), today announced the launch of their all-new 2015 OverMountain lineup. The new Trigger and Jekyll were showcased in the scenic waterfront town of Sotogrande in Cadiz, Spain. The ourtime Trigger 27.5 joins its 29er stablemate for 2015, offering 140mm/85mm of travel for a do-

Cannondale unveiled its new 2015 OverMountain line this week, and while we couldn’t be there (for reasons explained below), we still got the scoop on the new 27.5 Jekyll and Trigger bikes. Both models make use of Cannondale ‘s new Lefty SuperMax ourtime fork and travel-adjust Fox DYAD pull shocks.
Cannondale’s Lefty fork is legendary in XC circles for its sensitivity and stiffness, and the new SuperMax iteration brings that refinement to the trail and endure markets. With its dual integrated crown design, 36mm stanchion and massive 46mm upper, it should be as stiff as any fork on the market. Unlike traditional forks, the SuperMax moves on needle bearings like previous Lefty’s, keeping the action smooth. Since it is available in 27.5 and 29 versions, it will also come with size-specific offset: 60mm for the 29er and 50mm for the 27.5 versions. That extra offset helps keep the steering precise while allowing the head tube angle to slacken. Think of it as an even more pronounced version of the Gary Fisher/Trek G2 geometry.
The guts inside are Lefty SuperMax are new as well. A new damper is said to increase oil flow, aiding small bump sensitivity ourtime and high-speed plushness. This helps riders maintain low-speed compression damping for minimal brake dive. According to Cannondale, it will weigh in at just 1,850 grams.
Keeping the two ends of a mountain bike from twisting is the key to getting the best suspension performance. The new OverMountain bikes use 15mm thru-axles for key pivots, clamping on the end of the axle while keeping ourtime the axle bearings inboard. The bearing preload is also set with a collet sleeve.
The DYAD shocks are unique in that they are really two shocks in one. With two modes: Elevate and Flow, they can be transformed with the flick of a switch to perfectly match the terrain. In Elevate mode, the shock acts like a normal, short-travel XC shock, with oil flowing only through one chamber. It is optimized for climbing and rolling terrain by reducing air volume and creating a more progressive spring for efficient pedaling. According to Cannondale, it controls unwanted suspension movement through the spring rate, rather than compression damping like traditional shocks.
In ourtime Flow mode, both chambers are utilized, creating a large-volume air spring, ourtime while the oil is routed through only the Flow circuits. This allows the air spring rate to become very linear and supple like a coil spring.
The DYAD shocks get a new tune for 2015 as well, with a redesigned Flow mode to better compliment the new SuperMax fork. Cannondale says it improves mid to high speed compression damping, giving a more supple and smoother feel on small bumps and high speed chatter. Other changes include reducing the recommended sag from 40 percent to 30 percent for more usable travel and a wider range of rebound damping adjustment.
Switching between Flow and Elevate ourtime modes also adjusts the bike’s geometry based on how it sits in its travel. Cannondale calls this Attitude Adjust. Moving ourtime from Elevate to Flow mode slackens the head tube and drops the bottom bracket slightly.
Ridden by Jerome Clementz to an overall victory in the inaugural Enduro World Series, the 26-inch Jekyll was no slouch. Now it’s been updated with 160mm/95mm of travel and, of course, 27.5 wheels. The Jekyll is built around a 67 degree head tube angle, 73 degree ourtime effective seat tube angle and 17.3 inch chainstays. There will be two carbon and two aluminum bikes available, as well as a carbon frameset. The two aluminum models will ship with a 160mm RockShox Pike instead of the Lefty SuperMax.
The ourtime Trigger 27.5 joins its 29er stablemate for 2015, offering 140mm/85mm of travel for a do-it-all trail bike package. It sports a 68 degree head tube angle, 73.5 effective seat tube angle and 17.2 inch chainstays. There will be three carbon and two aluminum versions, as well as two carbon 29er versions with 130mm/80mm of travel. The two aluminum ourtime models will get a Fox 32 fork instead of the Lefty SuperMax.
Oh, and the reason we couldn’t be there to ride the new Cannondale models was our editor, Mike Cushionbury, had a rough day on his motorcycle and lost some skin, as well as some insides ourtime from his knee.  Is the weight of a lefty fork really that much better that its worth sacrificing any hope of good looks for?
 The lefty brings a lot more than "being lighter" to the table. And any way it looks killer. Lefties are superior in many ways to conventional forks. Lighter, stiffer, smoother, more plush, bottomless feel and easy to service. ipl 2013
 According to their websites the 29er supermax is 1830g, while the 650b Pike is 1861. So the 650b Carbon Lefty might shave another few grams, but I doubt it would come in much under 1800g. I think that other than that its the torsional stiffness of the Lefty that makes it potentially more advantageous to run, though I'm unsure of how they compare in terms of rebound and friction and whatnot.  Try ipl 2013 a Lefty before bashing on it! Because it uses needles bearings instead of regular stanchion you actually get to ''roll'' instead of sliding like a normal fork does. The result is butter smooth feeling compared to any of your Fox, RS, Bos, name it... Sure I am sold to Cannondale because the Jekyll and Claymore are seriously killer bikes but I havr to admit a Lefty looks weird.  How ipl 2013 it can be stiffer than conventional forks? How one tube can beat the stiffnes of the two? I can't imagine that. Maybe the Lefty itself is more rigid but as a whole package with hub and wheel this can't be true. I've just seen in this video how front wheel was crazily moving from side to side O.O
 Anyone who had a chance to ride a Lefty; ipl 2013 doesn't it pull your bike towards one side if the left side of the bike is heavier than the right one? Let's say if you're not holding the handlebars, won't your bike start turning?
 Yeah ipl 2013 that Lefty is abomination. Such is Cannondale. Abominations are what they do. Faster flat tire changes? SFW? The thing that gets me is that, it works. It's an inverted ipl 2013 fork with only one leg that actually does the job & they've had this thing around for years. Yet at the same time, you have all these peeps trying to say that inverted forks are too flexible when they have 2 legs? I wonder why they didn't make the Lefty out of a conventional fork.
 I also have to re-iterate a previous posters comment ipl 2013 - lefites are not "new" or "unusual" technology in of themselves, they are the standard in every car, truck etc. on the road. Sure the automotive application is different in many ways, but the principle of the technology is the same. I haven't heard about too many engine powered lefty (and righty) vehicles (even off roaders) snapping their suspension (except in extreme cases) or complaining about lack of torsional stiffness or insufficient travel.

Cannondale ’s Trail SL 29 SS does away with as much faff – apart from in its name – as possible, and is a purely elemental bike. No suspension, no gears. No nonsense. Frame: smoothly does it
Cannondale has a long history of building bikes from aluminium, tottenham and its experience shows in the frame’s construction. The welds are as smooth as we’ve seen on mass-market frames, and Cannondale claims tottenham there’s no filler in the welds under the paint to smooth them out either.
The top- and down-tubes have a decent girth, adding to the stiffness provided by the long welds. Speaking of the head-tube, Cannondale is sticking to its guns with the full 1.5in setup, although it’s ready to take any step-down headset. Moving further back, the seat-tube, chain and seatstays are skinny. 
To maintain its smooth lines, the Trail SL 29 comes with an eccentric bottom bracket (EBB) – the bottom bracket is held off-centre in an oversized shell, so its carrier can be rotated to change the effective chainstay length and tune the chain tension (there’s no mech to take up the slack, obviously). Despite handing the bike a fair amount of abuse, we’ve yet to make the EBB slip or creak.
The name suggests trail riding, but with a reasonably long 23.4in (Medium) effective top-tube and 71-degree head angle we found the bike suited an arse-up, head-down style, especially once we’d dropped the stem as low as it goes. This changed the SS from feeling tottenham a little ponderous to something ripe for putting the hammer down on. Equipment: successful compromises… mostly
Eschewing the usual clunky, heavy forks you often find on £750 bikes, Cannondale’s stuck on a rigid Fatty fork. The 1.5in steerer plugs stiffly into the head-tube, giving tottenham immediate feedback from your wheels . While the Cannondale fork lacks the extra stiffness of a bolt-through axle, the little bit of twang barely detracts tottenham from the riding experience. In fact, the small amount of fore and aft flutter you get stops the fork being unduly harsh on the hands, despite that 1.5in steerer.
The fork is suspension-corrected and, even with 29in wheels in, it looks tall. This means that sticking a suspension fork in the bike isn’t going to mess up the handling. But this rigid one excels in claggy, muddy conditions tottenham – the legs are widely spaced for acres of tyre clearance. There’s no chance of clogging up.
With an RRP of £750 and a decent frame and fork, creating a bike with a decent spec is always going to be tough. Cannondale’s approach has been to add an attractive wheel package and a more budget-orientated finishing kit, drivetrain and brakes.
The hubs are Formula, with the rear SS-specific one having wider flanges to aid stiffness (if you wanted to fit gears you’d need a new rear hub). The highlight are the Stan’s ZTR Rapid rims. When combined with Schwalbe’s relatively light Racing Ralph tyres, these are a light and stiff set of wheels. The bike accelerates tottenham easily, and yet holds its speed over rougher tottenham terrain too. This eagerness to accelerate is helped by the friendly 33:20 gear ratio; it’s slightly lower than the usual 32:18.
The money in the excellent wheels has left shortfalls elsewhere. Cannondale’s Helix 6 brakes lack any significant power, and their minimal levers are flexy, resulting in a slightly mushy feel. The Truvativ E-400 cranks, meanwhile, run on a square taper bottom bracket tottenham and are pretty heavy.
The stiffness of the cranks is less of a concern; with only a single ring and no derailleur, lateral flex is barely noticeable, and square tottenham taper BBs have a reputation for lasting ages. Ride and handling: surprisingly flexible
What became apparent while riding the Trail SL 29er is that it’s more adaptable than you’d think. Aluminium doesn’t have the buzz-reducing properties of steel and titanium, but Cannondale’s expertise shows through: the back end is supple, giving that little bit of zing over the trail, without leaving you feeling battered.
Those with masochistic tendencies will enjoy flogging tottenham themselves as fast as possible over hills and down dales, and those looking for a cheap, reliable second bike to run when the weather’s bad will enjoy being able to just chuck it in the shed dirty.

 In anticipation of the comment war to follow - every argument we keep hearing is invalid. front row sports Allegations of fragility, flexibility, and unreliability have all been refuted in articles on Pinkbike and elsewhere. Those were problems front row sports from previous generations; they're fixed. It looks weird? front row sports Great. Don't buy it. But don't confuse others with poor assumptions because you don't like the way the product looks. Poor (subjective) aesthetics don't make a bad fork. There are valid arguments against Leftys - stanchion more susceptible to damage, proprietary hub - but I can't remember the last time I've heard someone bring those up. Constructive criticism is great - it encourages dialogue amongst peers. But senseless, reactionary, arbitrary allegation promotes closed-mindedness in those who might have found their Steed of Destiny in a Trigger or what have you. Just stop. This sport is stubborn enough.
 I am sure these bikes work great and are light and would be really nice on a roof rack on top of a BMW but the problem I have is servicing. How many non Cannondale dealers carry parts and have the skills front row sports to fix a pull shock and a lefty? If they go wrong you are either bikeless or making a trip to a Cannondale main dealer.
 Patrick9-32 if your guys can't fix a simple cable actuated front row sports shock then your bike shop sucks. Neither front row sports one really takes any special skills, and if they really don't know they can look at the tech docs and figure front row sports it out.

The big “C” has finally jumped gva into the 650B game with all-new Cannondale Trigger 27.5 and Jekyll 27.5 mountain bikes. To go with them, they’ve introduced longer travel Lefty SuperMax forks to match.
Introduced as a 130mm part on the Trigger 29er , we first spotted a prototype longer travel Lefty SuperMax on team rider Ben Cruz’s bike last fall. They recently announced that their team riders would be racing on a new version of the fork, but details were scant until now.
The bikes themselves get reworked frames, particularly the Trigger, and both completely replace the 26″ models. As in, no more 26″ wheeled gva Trigger or Jekyll. Both get longer top tubes and front centers and slacker head angles, making them more stable when descending. But, as you’ll see, that’s not at the expense of pedaling proficiency…
These bikes introduce much longer travel Lefty SuperMax forks, coming in at 160mm ( Jekyll ) and 140mm ( Trigger ) depending on the bike. That’s up from the 130mm introduced on the Trigger 29er, but it’s more than just a travel change. Cannondale’s MTB PR manager Peter Vallance says it’s gva an entirely new structure and damper. He says the revised gva tune, dampers and internals make for a much more supple fork through the mid-stroke with less force required to get it moving initially.
Each bike will get it’s own internals, with the Trigger using a Trail Damper and Jekyll running gva an Enduro Damper. Like the 29er version, axle offset is specific to the wheel size, so it’s not just a delimited 29er version. Offset is 60mm on the 29er and 50mm for the 27.5 forks.
UPDATE: Here’s more detail from Cannondale’s gva Murray Washburn: “On SuperMax, the different travel levels get different length internal needle bearing strips and bearing races, so travel is set at the factory. The Trigger 29 and Trigger 27.5 both use the updated “trail” tune damper which has a new Widemouth piston that increases the forks’ plushness by reducing high speed compression damping while keeping low speed compression intact to retain the fork’s resistance to brake dive. For the Jekyll’s 160mm SuperMax, we created what we called the “endure tune” damper, which has a different (larger) shaft diameter and different valving designed to increase the plushness for sharp, high speed impacts gva and fast, choppy hits like you’d find in the EWS style racing. We also change the airspring gva volume/spring rate for each fork to suit the travel and damping.”
Out back, the dual-travel DYAD shock gets new pistons and internals, letting it move more oil through the circuit under mid- and high speed compression for improved sharp edge and bit hit response. Check the tech basics on how the DYAD shock works here . As a quick refresher, the way Cannondale’s dual travel suspension bikes work is fairly gva unique, with the shock simply limiting travel in the shorter “Elevate” mode and opening up a secondary chamber for the longer travel “Flow” mode. We reviewed it on the Trigger 29er last year, and it works brilliantly because it keeps the bike’s gva geometry sitting up higher for the shorter travel mode, then drops the angles, BB and sag for longer travel mode. Essentially, things are where they should be for the designated travel, and it does all that with minimal weight penalty.
They also changed the recommended sag rating from 40% to 30%, giving the shock (and bike) more usable travel. A better sag indicator on the side simplifies set up. The improved oil flow also let them increase the range of rebound adjustments, giving you more control over the feel. All in all, the changes gva help it match the feel and performance of the new PBR damper in the Lefty SuperMax. 2015 CANNONDALE TRIGGER CARBON 27.5″
The new Trigger is a big departure from the original 26″ bike . Before, it was sort of a maladjusted XC bike that didn’t fit directly into any category. Now, it’s “a full on Trail bike, ready for any madness you can throw at it,” gva as Vallance put it.
