WWE Friday fcf Night SmackDown hit the SyFy airwaves fcf last night (Dec. 20, 2013) from San Antonio, Texas, with a taped show featuring the fallout edition to the TLC pay-per-view (PPV) that went down this past Sunday night at the Toyota Center in Houston, Texas.
Let's get right to reactions: So the word we've heard for some time now is that John Cena is heavily in the corner of Big E. Langston and that means he's going to be getting a huge push because of it. After last night, that certainly looks to be the case but what I'm curious about is what kind of dirt does Langston have on Cena? He has to have something, right? They're pushing this guy to the moon not long after having nothing for him and both times coincided with Cena's presence. They can't be that good of friends, can they? Call me crazy but I enjoyed Langston vs. Jack Swagger. Brie Bella entertains me. That's fcf a real thing. So does AJ Lee, and Tamina Snuka does too. Wait, did I become a fan of the WWE Divas division? Does this make me a bad person? Is it also wrong of me that I feel like Drew McIntyre deserves better than jobbing to Sin Cara? I really, really, really hate that lighting. Like, it almost completely ruins the character for me. And I'm not a child, so the sweet mask doesn't offset that. Hunico isn't a botch machine, though, so there's at least some improvement. #BotchMachine That's not a real thing. It shouldn't be either. We know Tensai is a good worker. We know this because he went to Japan and any American who goes to Japan to wrestle must have improved his overall game. That's just a rule. Like if MVP ever comes back to WWE, that's what everyone is going to say. That he went to Japan and became a better worker before coming back home. All that to say, I didn't like Tensai's roll up on Brodus clay. It was really bad. Xavier Woods always should have been with the Funkadactyls. I hope they keep Cameron and Naomi around now that they've broken away from Clay too. They deserve a spot. Cody Rhodes and Goldust got a damn good match out of Luke Harper and Erick Rowan. I'm going to be really, really sad when WWE decides the tag champions need to break up and feud, though it will be bitter sweet because that feud will probably be great and result in at least one or two segments with Dusty trying to bring the two together. And then we can have more Rhodes family drama but it won't have anything to do with Triple H, and it will be great. Shit, I think I just talked myself into the Rhodes brothers breaking up. Or at least comforted myself with the knowledge that when they do, it will probably be awesome. I really like that Daniel Bryan's music could hit and instead of waiting for him to hit the ring with the chair he's lugging, Harper makes a beeline for him to start brawling. I love a guy who just wants to brawl because, really, that's what we here for, let's just do it. I also really liked the way they wrote Bryan out of the main event match with the Wyatt Family attack later, both because it was shot and produced well and because Renee Young was awesome trying to get an interview before getting piss scared at the sight of the big old monsters. I feel like we need more reminders that these guys are monsters. This did that. The Miz was in the main event of WrestleMania 27 against John Cena and he WON. Think about Miz today, just a few years later. fcf He's an awful babyface and WWE has booked him even worse as a heel. He's just a guy now, with really annoying mannerisms. Kofi Kingston's pants are the worst. I don't like to see John Cena teaming with CM Punk, if only because I feel like the feud of this generation should be Cena vs. Punk instead of Cena vs. Randy Orton. Those two should never team for meaningless handicap matches like we got against The Shield last night. Still, the match was good and the post-match beatdown was even better. Even Big E. making the save was great. That guy, despite being such a big man, has "hot tag house of fire" written all over him. You know what's really great about the way WWE has booked Roman Reigns? He can slowly climb into any ring and have a staredown with any guy on the roster with the right positioning at that given moment and it feels like a super big deal. They've done this spot like six times with six different fcf wrestles and the live crowd always reacts to it like it's a monumental meeting of two unstoppable forces. That's an awesome thing. That right there is the kind of thing WWE sees and makes them want to push him to the moon. You don't get that with the other guys. Dean Ambrose is a great talker and Seth Rollins will give you a lot of great matches but they aren't going to make you giddy in anticipation with a staredown against Big E. Langston on a SmackDown show. Believe in Reig
